We send out all of our knives to a sharpness that is safe for the average user, but usable in every kitchen. We don't need people cutting fingers off over here. That being said, you have the ability to use a whetstone and sharpen your knife to dial in the edge that you desire. We recommend using 1000 grit to get to the initial sharpness you're looking for, then go back with 3000, 8000, then a strop to polish the edge. 1000 alone will do the job if you aren’t too worried about a super polished looking edge. Remember to dry it off after sharpening and give it a fresh coat of Mineral oil to protect the knife from rust.


The same exact way you would care for your 71 mach 1 mustang. Polish that baby daily and make sure it is out in the open for EVERYONE to see. Show it off! Whatever you do, do NOT put this bad boy in the dishwasher. Hand wash and dry the blade after each use. Every other use, we recommend to lather that puppy up with mineral oil to prevent rust.

Folded Steel offers an exclusive lifetime warranty guarantee for our cutlery against manufacturing defects in material and construction. We expect our knives to perform as advertised when properly used and maintained. The Limited Lifetime Warranty is non-transferable and does NOT extend to normal signs of wear, rust, damage or breakage due to improper use (dropping, cutting hard surfaces, prying, etc.), improper maintenance, accidents, or loss or theft.


If any issues ever arise with your Folded Steel products, just send us a message with your Order ID along with any images of your concern and we will be happy to help you. 

The short answer is no. While sales are very rare with Folded Steel, if we constantly refunded people every time we ran a sale because people purchased at full price, then we would never be able to run good deals. 

Folded Steel has the ability to run sales at their discretion and for any time period. 

Don't Panic! Damascus steel is high in carbon and is at risk for light rust. We like to compare Damascus steel to a cast iron pot. The care is similar. If rust appears, hand wash and dry with a soft towel, then apply lemon juice and scrub with a cloth. This process may need to be repeated. When done, apply mineral oil to the entire knife to store. Remember to NEVER place your knife in the dishwasher. Hand wash and hand dry only. 

Our knives will cut through soft bone and cartilage just as almost every knife on the market. We do not claim to cut through metal, deer antlers or any other crazy stuff you might see on the internet. We do however offer extremely versatile kitchen knives which we back through a limited lifetime guarantee. When it comes to the HRC scale, a higher hardness is not always better. The harder the knife, the more brittle the blade will be leaving it prone to chipping. We leave a little flexibility in the steel so if the blade takes on edge damage, it rolls instead of chipping or breaking. Neither are great circumstances, but a rolled blade can be resharpened where a chipped blade is toast. Leave any bone in question to an electric knife or saw. Don't be trying to cut a bone the size of your arm and asking for a replacement because your knife broke. 😂

At Folded Steel, we treat your personal information the same way we do ours! We use industry-standard encryption systems for potentially sensitive information, such as your name, address and other critically sensitive information like your credit / debit card details. Information passed between your computer and our website cannot be read in the event of someone else intercepting it. We will never hold your credit card number or personal information, even for future orders.

If your order was damaged, make sure to take extremely clear pictures of your packaging, the product and email us with a detailed description of what is wrong. This will help us serve you directly rather than going back and forth.

Our company is based in Nashville, Tennessee however we have a family owned forge in Pakistan that our knives are being made in. Our steel is made directly in our forge for our use only. We have a man on the ground running the every day operation. This ensures that we maintain our high quality control standard and when the knives are shipped to Nashville, we personally inspect and test every single knife before it heads to your house. Yes! When you process your order, we will ask for your email address and phone number. Make sure the email address is current and check your spam folder incase our email ends up in the wrong place! 

Once the order is shipped, you will receive another email with shipment confirmation and order tracking! Please allow 1-2 days after receiving the shipment confirmation for USPS to update their system with the tracking info. 

Yes! If you need to make changes be sure to contact us immediately at Reachout@foldedsteel.com. If your order has already shipped, you will be responsible for additional shipping costs.

We offer the typical Credit/Debit options such as: Visa, Master Card, Discover, JCB, Diners Club, American Express and Apple Pay. We do also have free financing through afterpay. Afterpay allows you to spread out your purchase over 4 interest free payments and can be applied at checkout. 

Please note that you may be subject to tariffs and duties and are responsible for any country-specific tariffs and duties, charged by your government to the purchasing party for importing items. Unfortunately, we are not in control of any country-specific tariffs and duties imposed on your order by your respective government. Taxes and duties will likely be charged on the items you order. If taxes and duties are placed on your package by officials, the fees will be your responsibility. We are legally obligated by Border Agencies to show the original price of any of the item(s). So no we cannot lie about the purchase price 😜.

If your PO Box can fit our package, we will ship. Make sure before you place your order, that this is arranged on your end. UK customers will be required to sign for PO boxes.  

Keep in mind, while we do offer free shipping, if the package gets denied and returned to us, you will need to pay for additional shipping cost.

In the unforseeable event that you are not happy with your investment, please send us an email at Reachout@foldedsteel.com with your Order ID along with any images of your concern and we would be happy to help you. On returns, your item must be in like-new condition. 

To maintain our pricing with the high quality of products we offer, occasionally we will have items that run a preorder status. These items will have information on delivery timeframe and if for some reason that falls through, we will cancel your order and refund you immediately. We typically ship our products within 1-2 days of you placing your order. We ship everything USPS priority which is 2-3 day shipping in the US. You order will ship as soon as its had its final polish! If you have any questions, feel free to email us at reachout@foldedsteel.com

International orders may take 10-14 days or longer due to customs.
